Play Moortown and Alwoodley

Alwoodley and Moortown are only half a mile apart and their histories remain intertwined. Both courses are staples in GB&I Top 100 Courses lists and they offer enduring examples of MacKenzie’s design principles: his trademarks include large, undulating putting surfaces, manmade mounding sculpted to look entirely natural, asymmetrical bunkering that blends into its surroundings and greens often set at a slight angle to the direction of approach.

Stay and Play Package

Alwoodley and Moortown are offering a great-value stay-and-play package for the new season allowing you to experience two Top 100 courses in one trip. From £339, play one course on a Sunday afternoon, stay overnight at a nearby 4 Star Hotel and then play the second course the following morning. The price includes breakfast and is based on two people sharing a room. Package operates from April – October each year

Play Moortown and Ganton

Play two Ryder Cup venues in one golf trip. Ganton hosted the Ryder Cup in 1949 along with other major golfing events such as the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup. From £399 this package offers a round on each course with an overnight stay included. You will also get the choice of staying at Ganton’s dormie house or in the city of Leeds just 4 miles away from Moortown. Breakfast is included along with free parking at both venues and use of leisure facilities at the hotel in Leeds.

Play Moortown and Sand Moor

There is only half a mile separating Moortown and Sand Moor. Both courses are located just 5 miles north of Leeds city centre so it makes for a great trip if visiting Leeds! Sand Moor is a fellow MacKenzie designed course and has stunning views over Eccup reservoir.

Moortown and Sand Moor have decided to work together and offer an amazing value stay-and-play package. From £265, play one course on a Thursday afternoon, stay overnight at a nearby 4 Star Hotel and then play the second course the following morning. The price includes breakfast and is based on two people sharing a room. This package was introduced for September and October 2025 and will be made available again for April to October 2026.
